Minimum technical requirements for connection and parallel operation of power generating systems on the low-voltage grid

Connection and operation of generation systems on the low-voltage grid (TAR EZA NS)

This VDE application rule VDE-AR-N 4105 specifies the technical requirements for generation systems and storage systems that go beyond VDE-AR-N 4100 ‘Technical rules for the connection and operation of customer installations to the low voltage network (TAR Low Voltage)’. It applies to generating plants connected to the low-voltage grid for the first time and when existing plants are expanded or modified. This VDE application rule does not require any adaptation for an existing, unmodified part of the electrical installation, provided that a safe and fault-free power supply is ensured. This applies to all generation plants and storage facilities that are operated in parallel with the network operator’s low-voltage network, including those that do not feed into the network operator’s low-voltage grid. The project group ‘Power Generating Plants Connected to the Low-Voltage Network’ of the VDE Network Technology & Network Operation Forum (FNN), which was founded by the Low and Medium Voltage Steering Committee, is responsible for this VDE application rule.
