The notified draft resolution regulates the certification of industrial hemp seeds, establishing specific standards to ensure the production and control of seeds with low THC content, for industrial and agricultural uses exclusively. It sets out seed categories, authorization requirements for multiplication, field inspection procedures and the producer's obligations to maintain traceability, varietal purity and crop uniformity.

It establishes minimum isolation distances to prevent genetic contamination and regulates the maximum authorized THC content. In addition, it describes the procedures for the harvesting, selection, labelling and post-harvest handling of seeds, including controls to prevent unauthorized dispersion. SAG is the authority responsible for control, authorization and certification, ensuring that seeds comply with the domestic and international standards in force.
