The draft Resolution seeks to approve a new MERCOSUR Technical Regulation on the nutritional labelling of packaged foods, which updates and replaces previous standards. It establishes what nutritional information must be declared, the required formats and legibility criteria, the cases in which declaration is voluntary or exempt, how values must be calculated and presented, and the transition periods that will apply to different types of products and operators before the regulation becomes mandatory in State parties.
